How a course works with us
Many adults come to us with a long history: bad experiences in school lessons, a frightening moment on holiday, or simply never having had the chance. That is exactly what this course is for – in a small group where everyone is at the same point.
- 1
Talking before anything else
First we work out where you are and what makes you uncomfortable. If you only want to go in up to your hips in the first lesson, that is where you stop.
- 2
Body position and breathing
The most important building block: understanding that water carries you. Breathing out into the water, lying back, letting yourself float – everything else gets easier from here.
- 3
Gliding and first strokes
From pushing off and gliding we move to your first complete strokes. Arms, legs and breathing are practised separately, then put together.
- 4
Confident in deep water
At the end comes what you came for: a length without touching the bottom, jumping in and calmly coming back up.
There is no audience and no pressure to perform. Natalie tells you what is coming next, so you decide yourself when you are ready for the next step.
