How it works

How a course works with us

This is where children take the big step: they go into the water without their parents and learn in a small group of peers. The goal is a safe path to the Seepferdchen badge – without pressure, but with a clear structure.

  1. 1

Into the water alone – but not unaccompanied

Parents stay at the poolside while the children go in with the instructor. The first lesson is mostly about settling in and getting to know each other.

  2. 2

    Breathing and water familiarisation

Face in the water, blowing bubbles, opening eyes, brief moments underwater: every child takes this step at their own pace – nobody is pushed or pulled.

  3. 3

    Buoyancy, gliding and jumping

Children experience that water carries them: they glide off from the edge, practise front and back floating and jump in as soon as they feel confident.

  4. 4

On the way to the Seepferdchen

The individual building blocks turn into first proper strokes, and gradually we add the exercises needed for the Seepferdchen badge.

The badge is awarded when a child is genuinely confident – not because a certain number of lessons has passed. After each session you hear briefly what was worked on and what can be practised at your local pool.
